Melva LaVeta Lester's Obituary
LESTER, MELVA LAVETA LITTLE born April 21, 1918 in Piedmont, OK and passed away July 8, 2014 in Dallas, TX. Melva is survived by her sons, Larry Lester and wife, Dianne and Ron Lester and husband, Martin Honan; sister, Bette Hobbs; 6 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, August Francis Lester and son, Frank Chris Lester. Melva worked at SMU for 29 years, retiring in 1992. She previously was a singer and this included having her own live radio program in Oklahoma City. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM, Friday, July 11, 2014 at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM, Saturday, July 12, 2014 at Restland Wildwood Chapel.
