Melvin Wayne Adams' Obituary
Melvin Wayne Adams made his trip to Heaven on April 29, 2020. He passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on October 28, 1945 in Quanah, TX. He grew up in Lubbock, TX and joined the Army in 1963. After serving 3 years in the Army, he began his career as a long haul truck driver. He retired in 2008 from ABF Freight Lines in Dallas where he received his 3 million miles safety award. Melvin was a humble man with a warm smile and never met a stranger. He always had a joke to tell and a contagious laugh. He was a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, and Uncle. He was preceded in death by his parents, Douglas and Tennie Adams; Sister, Carolyn Thompson; Brother, Gerald Adams; Sisters-in-law, Penelope Adams and Claudia Cox; and Brother-in-law John McAdam. He is survived by the love of his life, Roxie Adams, with whom he shared more than 41 years of marriage; Daughter, Melanie Graham and Husband, Jeff Graham; Daughter, Becky Adams-Drain and Husband, James Drain ; Grandchildren, Cody Adams, Lily and Zoey Drain; Sister, Patsy McAdam; Mother-in-law, Judy Cox; brothers-in-law, Douglas and William Cox; and many loving nieces and nephews. The service will be on Monday, May 4th at 2:00 p.m. at Restland Memorial Chapel, Dallas,TX.
