Melvin Christopher Meyers' Obituary
Melvin Christopher Meyers was born on February 13, 1962, in Dallas, Texas. Son of Melvin and Catherine Meyers. He was a 1980 graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School where he was member of the marching band. He won the DISD “Olympiad” Math Contest (Computer Programing); introducing him to his first love, computers. When he graduated, he attended North Texas State University. He decided he had enough of school and moved to Houston to work for Computer Craft, Incorporated.
Due to his love of computers, Melvin remained in the computer industry working for Intermec Technologies Corporation, Computer Reset and several companies. His final employment was with Lennox Industries where he was a valued team member, mentor, comedian and friend.
Melvin entered eternal rest on Friday, January 9, 2026. He was 63. He was preceded in death by his parents Melvin and Catherine Elizabeth Meyers and his niece Haley Givens.
Melvin leaves to cherish his memory; Brother: Ollie Lee Meyers (Charlotte) and Sisters: Bertha Diane Givens (Clint), Cheryl Albright and Catherine Marie Meyers. Aunt: Alice Pyburn, and Marion Booth and Great Aunt: Avis Laundry, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A celebration of life service will be held on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at 2 p.m. at the Restland Funeral Home.
