Melvin Odell "M.O." Roberts' Obituary
Melvin Odell “M.O.” Roberts, 85, of Dallas TX passed away on Sunday, April 22, 2018, in Dallas, TX due to complications from pneumonia. M.O. was born in Dallas, TX to Clyde Harvey Roberts and Hazel May on September 14, 1932, He married Sharon King on January 19, 1963, during a snowstorm in Everman, TX. He was a veteran of the Korean War and served in the Navy as an airplane mechanic, based in Hutchinson, Kansas.He mainly worked on pilot trainer planes, along with doing maintenance on The fighter jet Corsair, which he piloted back and forth from Kansas to Norman, OK testing the maintenance work.M.O. worked as a Flight Engineer for American Airlines for 42 years hiring on in 1955 and retiring in September 1997. He flew on the DC10, DC6, and DC7, 707, 727, 747 and the Electra. During his career, he was also Check Airman, leading the American Airlines 747 training program. M.O. is survived by Sharon, his spouse of 55 years, daughter Jill Levy and her husband Raphael, grandchildren Barak Levy, Maxwell Levy and Helen Levy, Sisters Juanita Tucker, Betty Culpepper and her husband Kenneth, and Sandra LeFlore and her husband Paul, and brother Ulen Roberts and his wife Dorothy. He is proceeded in death by his son Kai Roberts and Brother Donald Roberts.Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Cemetery, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75243, (972-238-7138)
