To the Waldrop Family – we had the pleasure of meeting and working with Melvin when our Mother passed on May 6. During our grief, Melvin was so kind and loving. He assisted us through our meeting with words of wisdom, funny stories and a genuine care from his heart. Melvin leaves a legacy for his family and friends that is rarely matched by others. We have been and will continue to pray for the Waldrop family through these difficult days. May the Lord bless and keep you. Sue Reeves and Sharon Garrett (Mother: Marjorie Gresham Latimer)
I sure miss you, dear friend! I hope your wife and family are all doing fine. I will be here at Restland if there is ever anything I can do to help. You all will sure be in my thoughts and prayers. Sincerely, James Peavey

Worked with Melvin at Mount Olivet in Fort Worth and Restland. He was the neatest guy with the best stories. He was a man with a great work ethic and sense of humor. He loved his family and would carry old photos of them in his jacket. He was always bragging about his grandson. He would say I love you if he loved you and you knew he meant it. They don't make men like Melvin anymore. I love you back Melvin. Rest In Peace my friend. My condolences to his loved ones. Bernie Garza
One of my fondest memories of Melvin was that he was the best "grandpa" ever! He was so helpful when I lost my son in 2013. He helped our family through the entire process. Praying for our family left behind! I am so sorry for your loss!
Melvin could sing….the greatest baritone voice…but also sang from the heart. He grew up singing in church and could harmonize with any tune or voice. Like a rich melody, he shared his joy, his humor and his love for life.
Just now learning about Melvin's departure. Always such sad news to hear, but with grateful hearts we trust he is with the Lord as we look back on his life and the memories we shared. First met Melvin when he sold us our plan. Later worked with him and the families he served in officiating their funeral services. Everyone had a great time listening to his many stories and teasing him a little. I Corinthians 6:19-20 Dr. Bill Avaritt — Arlington, Texas
