Mertie Lou Cherry's Obituary
CHERRY, MERTIE LOU 85, died among family and friends on Easter Sunday, March 31, 2013. “Cherry” was born June 23, 1927 to Sam and Mertie Fulfer of Fairley, Texas. During World War II she did her part working in the defense industry in various administrative positions. Her most important job was with Headquarters, Army and Air Force Exchange Service, Dallas, Texas, from which she retired with 15 years of service. She handled employee pay issues for military exchanges worldwide. During that time she was active in Toastmasters International and completed their public speaking program with flying colors. In addition, she taught Bible classes for young adults at several Churches of Christ in the local area. Cherry is survived by her devoted and loving husband, Roy, after 64 years of marriage; daughter, Priscilla Marsilio and her husband, Joe, residents of San Antonio; grandson, Joe Marsilio, Jr., of San Antonio; granddaughter, Elaine Krift and her husband, Bro, residents of Corpus Christi; great- grandson, Broderick Krift, 8 weeks; brother, B. B. Fulfer and his wife, Pat, residents of Weatherford; and several generations of nieces and nephews in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and elsewhere in Texas. A viewing will be held Friday, April 5, 2013 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM followed by a graveside service at 1:30 PM at Restland Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Ave., Dallas TX. David Vestal, Elder of the Western Hills Church of Christ, will officiate at the graveside service.
