Mr. Michael Alan Atkins 60, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 10, 2018, in Rockwall, Texas. He was born on Wednesday, September 17, 1958, to his loving and thoughtful parents, William H. Atkins and Marion E. Foreman in Quero, Texas.Mike loved fishing and the Dallas Cowboys, he also loved his family. You could find Mike at every sporting event cheering on his grandchildren and heckling the refs for every “bad” call made against his grandchildren. He was a talented woodworker and made a lot of the decor seen in his children’s homes. He also enjoyed buying things and complaining about how much it cost. “I paid for that remodel” he would say as we drove past the dentist office. He could (and would) eat his weight in Reese’s and M&Ms and not gain a pound. Mike would help his grandchildren with sports on the weekend to improve their game. He was always generous and would do anything for his 3 daughters.He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Eloise Atkins and sister Pamela Nelson.Michael is survived by his daughters, Lauren Bourquin of Rockwall, TX, Kathryn Howell and husband, Brian of Rockwall, Texas and Camille Atkins of Mesquite, Texas; and five grandchildren.Funeral services for Michael Alan Atkins will be held on Saturday, October 13, 2018, at 12:00 PM at The Abbey Chapel at Restland Funeral Home.Funeral arrangements for Mr. Michael Alan Atkins have been faithfully entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Cemetery, which is located at 13005 Greenville Ave., at the intersection of Restland Road, Dallas, Texas 75243, and can be reached at (972) 238-7111.In lieu of flowers, go to your local bar, order a Jack and Coke, and raise your glass to Mike-he would have wanted that. #raiseyourglasstomike
