Michael Bryan Climer's Obituary
Michael Bryan Climer, 44, of Athens, Texas, passed away on November 1, 2023.
Michael was born on November 6, 1978, in Garland, Texas to Phillip Ray Climer and Cindy Jean (Cromwell) Climer.
After Michael graduated from Garland High School in 1997, he became a journeyman plumber for his family’s business, Climer Plumbing Company. Upon his father’s passing in 2007, Michael changed career paths and became a municipal building and plumbing inspector working for The City of Greenville, Texas; The City of Dallas, Texas; and The City of Athens, Texas. Recently, he returned to the trade by becoming Phoenix Plumbing Company’s Quality Control Manager.
In 2002, Michael met Catherine Schelde. In 2008, they were married. Together they have a son, Phillip Ryan Climer. Michael also has a stepson with Catherine, Corvin Schelde.
Michael was preceded in death by his father, Phillip Ray Climer; grandfather, Richard Graham Climer; grandfather, James Alvin Cromwell; grandmother, Virble Virginia (Leek) Climer; grandmother, Loy Louise “Snookie” (McKee) Cromwell.
Michael is survived by his wife, Catherine Michelle (Schelde) Climer; mother, Cindy Jean (Cromwell) Climer; stepson, Corvin Michael Schelde; son, Phillip Ryan Climer; sister, Denise (Climer) Bennett and husband John David; brother, Phillip Climer, and wife Lara (Butler) Climer; 6 nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at the Wildwood Chapel at Restland Funeral Home, 13005 Greenville Avenue at Restland Road, Dallas, Texas, 75243, on November 10, 2023, at 2 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Michael’s name to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, Memorial Giving, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105.
