Michael Leonard Fields' Obituary
FIELDS, MICHAEL LEONARD Mike went to be with our Lord the evening of March 29th after a courageous year-long battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his loving family and in the comfort of his home. Mike was born on March 22nd, 1950 in Knoxville, Tennessee, the son of Leonard and Helen Fields. The epitome of a family man, he is survived by his loving wife, Sandy, daughter Angela and her husband Eric Walker, daughter Ashley and her husband Mike Bell, and granddaughter Finley Walker. He is also survived by his brothers Don and David, sister Linda, sisters-in-law Sharon and Donna, brother-in-law Monte, and numerous nieces and nephews. Mike worked for many years at Texas Instruments and Xerox, and spent more than the past 25 years at Raytheon where he truly found his second family. He was also the founder of a successful business manufacturing and marketing Six Sigma training equipment. He was an avid golfer and fisherman, and loved to travel. All who knew him found their lives richer for experiencing his easy humor and deeply caring heart. His family and friends are brokenhearted at his passing, yet rejoice in the end of his pain and the beginning of his eternal life with his Lord and Savior. A celebration of Mike’s life is planned for 5:00 pm on Saturday, April 14th – Mike and Sandy’s 40th wedding anniversary – at Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church, 9800 Preston Road, Dallas, Texas 75230, with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church, the Esophageal Cancer Awareness Association (PO Box 55071 #15530, Boston MA, 02205-5071), or the SAGA Society, preventing cruelty to animals in Belize (SAGA Society, General Delivery, San Pedro Town, Ambergris Caye, Belize, CA).
