Michael My Son Michael A Father’s Benediction Michael, my Michael, my mighty, marvelous, magnificent, majestic Michael. You have gone to be with our Father and our Lord for eternity. We all receive comfort knowing where you are right now. There is no doubt you are in the bosom of the Father. There are those who are wonderful to others for short periods and only when required…when injured, when sad, or when facing death but Michael you were wonderful all the time. Supportive of your family…bringing people to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ…continuous kind words…unending kind actions…a humble spirit…a smile… and a friendly attitude are only the beginnings of describing your beautiful soul. Michael we will always love you, miss you and will always remember you daily. Not only in the little things you brought to each of us, but also in the big things that mark our times together…whether it is working hard or just hanging out, your memory will be sweet to our souls and spirits. Jesus, those who are here have what appears to be an unbearable sadness holding us together. Wonderful Counselor, we are trying to understand Michael’s death, but that understanding currently eludes us. As a scientist I know there are scientific questions which cannot be answered. Things happen every day in the world around us that are illogical, but they still happen. Michael’s death is one of these things; rationalization and understanding are beyond our abilities. As a Christian I know God never said we would understand everything. However, Jesus did say He will give us the strength to get through everything, no matter how devastating. God we look to you now for that strength…strength which comes out of the peace that passes all understanding. We know God is here in this moment. Lord, we beg of you, give us your perfect peace to fill the void in our hearts in our struggle for understanding. In the ultimate why, our salvation is in your perfect peace. We thank you Lord for the blessings you pour out on us every day. Even on a day like today we thank you for who we gather for. The blessings we rely on now are a strong family and terrific friends who have gathered to support each other in this time of immeasurable sorrow. The peace that passes all understanding is most powerfully administered through these relationships built up over the years. In some cultures death is a time of great celebration…often for a week or more. Somehow I think Michael would like it that way … right here right now. Let us share together as we celebrate Michael’s life. Michael, our Michael, our mighty, marvelous, magnificent, majestic, Michael. Jesus, we give you praise, glory, honor, majesty, might and power for Michael’s life among us. Lord look after your servant Michael and hold him close now that he is with you. I see you Michael in our Lords lap, being loved by Jesus as Jesus loves us here in our sorrow. Lord empower us to get along with our daily lives through your Spirit, though we will be poorer in this life without Michael. Guide us oh thou great Jehovah. Go now in peace, to love a serve the Lord Goodbye my Son…
