In High School Mike and I were inseparable. He was a transfer from a Denton school in my sophomore year (first one.) We were in the same home ec class with another guy I knew from Jr High name Mike Miller, that had his own car. Well Miller and Mikey sat at the same table and one day I asked Miller if he’d give me a ride after school to go pick by up some smokes. He said “That’s cool. But Mikey is coming with us and we’re going downtown” I said l, “It’s whatever man, but Mike who?” And that’s when he said Klundt and I kinda thought he was joking…but from that day on it was Miller, Mikey and me but then Dewayne Mitchell filled the last seat in Miller’s green Volvo 240 DL. We found a store off Fitzhugh that would sell me beer with some ID I had found at a gas station. We’d go buy 40’s and go back to Kathy’s and play dominos all night. Mikey also had some woofers, 12’s or 16’s, but that amp would thump. What’s crazy is the police Department was at the end of the street and even though they could probably hear us we’ll never heard about it. I wouldn’t trade those days for anything. Some of the best years of my life were spent at “Saint” Kathy's. You deserve a metal and a hug and like the rest of us more time with Mikey. He’s was the coolest, most down to earth person and I can honestly say that out of this whole 45 years on this spinning rock I can at least say I met one person like Mikey. He was definitely an influence in everyone’s life he touched. I don’t think anyone ever had anything bad to say about Mikey, and if they said it to me, they wouldn’t say it agin., at least not to me. The brother was definitely a vibe. These last few sentences got my eyes leaking. I’m sorry I missed his funeral Kathy. And I’m really sorry, really sorry about Mike. I know he was your favorite, don’t worry, Gordon and Jeff can’t read so they don’t know I’m second place. Thanks Kathy, for everything you did or didn’t see us do. Lol. Well I love you guys, mostly you Kathy and wouldn’t mind introducing my wife and daughter to you some day. My number is (214) 676-7870 if any of y’all ever need anything, and I do mean anything well except money, reach out and I got you. The world was a better place with Mikey in it, at least mine was. Thank you for sharing him with us Kathy. Alright I gotta go plug this leak, love you guys.
