Michael Terry Lewis' Obituary
Michael Terry Lewis, age 57, passed away suddenly on June 22, 2025, at his home in Dallas, Texas. He was born to Terry Lewis and Jane Howell (then Jane Lewis), on July 13, 1967, in Dallas where he lived most of his life. He suffered from cancer for the last ten years or so, which at times was very painful, but he continued to function whenever possible, up until his death. Michael worked in the construction industry most of his adult life, primarily multi-family. Michael accepted Christ as his personal savior, at age 6, in a Christian “five-day club.” He achieved the Boy Scout level of Eagle Scout while attending Lake Highlands High School in Dallas. He learned the construction business from his father, and while working for NE Construction, LLP, dba Phoenix Construction. At Phoenix, when not in the field, he read, evaluated, and negotiated contracts between Phoenix and other builders or subcontractors. Michael was a valued and accomplished construction superintendent with Phoenix and successfully completed multiple apartment projects throughout Texas. He established many friendships among the officers and personnel of Phoenix, and working there were among the happiest days of his life.
Michael was very fond of his two rescue dogs, especially little Sandy, who would greet him whenever he came home. When Sandy died Michael grieved for weeks.
After his parents divorced, Michael grew to know Thomas Howell, who eventually married his mother. His mother and stepfather stayed on good terms with his father, and Thomas and Terry became good friends. Michael had two step-bothers, Jonathan who lives in Dallas, and Dodge, who resides in Michigan. In recent years, Jonathan provided help to Michael on many occasions, as did his former wife, Alejandra Lewis.
Michael is survived by his father, mother, stepfather, his two stepbrothers, and his Beagle, Buster.
There will be a private burial service, with a memorial service to be scheduled later this year. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to White Rock Dog Rescue on Lanshire Dr. in Dallas, or to the charity of your choice.
