A friend, mentor and brother. Extremely knowledgeable with a great sense of humor. Never heard him say a bad word about anyone. Despite his tough exterior he was sensitive and caring. Very empathetic to the pain and suffering of others. To borrow a phrase, a true mensch. He will be sorely missed.
🎸My Michael quote, "I adore you".... Another Angel gone...Play on, brother Michael, play on...

I met Mike when I was 15 years old at a Foosball hall in Garland Texas in 1976. He was playing in the James Buck Band! I heard the most amazing guitar playing! I ran up to the stage! Our eyes met! He was playing Jeff Beck, we ended as Lovers. Well, we got married April 1st 1978! We were married 7 years and so many wonderful things happened. We went to California, he made an Album, he introduced me to so many famous musicians, Stevie Wonder, Chaka Kahn, Toto, Three Dog Night, Eric Clapton, Eric Johnson just to name a few. Not to mention all the talented people who he was always surrounded with. Mike and I always loved one another but understood that it wasn't meant to be. We remained truly in love friends forever. 💜🎸

I have many good memories of Mike McCullough! First meeting him in the early nineties when Margie and I moved to Dallas from Austin; watching him jam with Margie’s father, Billy Green, at Margie’s 45th birthday party; jamming with him at our house many times - him tolerating and even enjoying my amateur drumming; seeing him for the last time at House of Blues watching Eric Johnson. Mike, you are and will be missed.
