Dr. Michael Allen Perl's Obituary
PERL, DR. MICHAEL A. went to be with his Lord on September 15, 2011. He was born on February 7, 1936 in New York and was raised in Arizona, Missouri and Texas. He was a proud TCU Alumni. Dr. Perl was a professor at Amberton University for over 20 years and Director of the Computer Department at Brookhaven College for many years. He was an avid Duplicate Bridge Player, past President of AARP local chapter, member of the Elks and was very active at the longest Opry show in Texas, The Garland Opry, serving as Treasurer. Dr. Perl volunteered at the Eisemann Center, volunteered preparing taxes for the senior citizens and his weekend hobby was dancing at the senior citizen centers. Dr. Perl was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Billee Leon Perl; loving wife, Bernice M. Perl; son, David M. Perl and brother, Jeffrey Edward Perl. He is survived by his children, Michael J. Perl and Dr. Karen M. Perl, including “Bear”; companion, Nancy McTaggart; brother, James David Perl; sisters, Deirdre June Perl and Jo Ellen Perl; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. Services will be held at 3:30 p.m., Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at Restland Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Restland Memorial Park. Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, September 19th and Tuesday, September 20th at Restland Funeral Home.
