Michael Todd Ward's Obituary
Michael Todd Ward was born in Kermit, Texas on September 5, 1962. His family moved to Gladewater in 1968. He was a Gilmer Buckeye, marched in the band, playing the tuba. He and Billy & Bernard formed the “tuba rock”, other schools followed suit. He won several awards in Mechanics, UIL & AGG while working on his Dodge Charger. He moved to the Dallas in 1985 and started in the garage door business. The life of Mike can be summed up in the love he had and shared with those around him. He was an outstanding father, grandfather, husband, son, uncle and friend. He helped all those in need. He was a great provider and did not shy away from hard work. He was an avid billiards player, shared a love of cinema with his son and enjoyed every moment with his grandchildren. He was the ultimate handyman. He could fix anything from cars to a broken toy, to a garage door; as owner of Award Garage Door since 2009.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Rebecca Lee (Wedgworth) Ward; mother, Nona Lucille Batchelor (Ward) Burns; father, Donald Roy Ward; son, Christopher Michael Ward and his wife, Stephanie; step-sons, Robert Lloyd Burns II and his wife, Tiffany, as well as, Raymond Lee Burns and his wife, Trisha; half-brother, Jerry Leon Burns and his wife, Mylinda; step-brothers, Wade Eugene Burns and his wife Jeana, also, Robert Lloyd Burns and his wife, Cindy; step-sister, Vickie Louise (Burns) Knox; grandchildren, Lily Marie Ward and Airik Michael Ward. Also, to cherish his memory are his uncles, aunts and many nieces, nephews, cousins and loved ones. He is preceded in death by brother, Kenneth Dale Burns; grandmother, Helen Gentry; grandparents, Joe and Helen Ward; nephew, Randel Erik Burns; stepfather, Robert Eugene Burns, and grandfather, Charles James Batchelor.
