Michele Laughlin LeBlanc's Obituary
Michele Laughlin LeBlanc — wife, mother, friend, and teacher — passed away at the age of 56 on Friday, May 27th, 2022. She fought a courageous battle with chronic illness for many years and is finally now at peace. She was born on February 26th, 1966 in Dallas, Texas to Robert Laughlin and Bobbye Hollins (neé McCollum), and from an early age embodied the loving yet fearless spirit of a Southern woman. Michele graduated from Richardson High School in 1984 and went on to begin a lifelong career advocating for the disenfranchised. In 1991, she met the love of her life, Kelly LeBlanc, whom she would marry in 1993. Together, they would endure the tragic loss of their first two children, Ashlyn Marie and Alison Elizabeth. However, they were granted two more children — Joshua Avery and Jeremy Alexander — whom she loved fiercely and raised virtuously. She was a caring homemaker for many years before returning to her life’s work, taking a job assisting in the aid of children with disabilities. She worked across many elementary schools for twelve years, spreading joy, grace, and love wherever she went. Michele loved crafting and scrapbooking, spending time with family and friends, reading, and lounging out on the beach. She is survived by her husband of 28 years, Kelly; her sons, Joshua and Jeremy; her father, Robert; her mother, Bobbye; her step-father, Ezra; her step-mother, Holly; her brothers, Greg and Michael; her step-siblings, Jay and Hillary; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her daughters, Ashlyn and Alison. A service will be held on Saturday, June 4th at 10 a.m. at Wildwood Chapel, Restland Funeral Home and Cemetery, 13005 Greenville Ave, Dallas, TX 75243. In addition to flowers, the family would ask that donations be made to The Arc of Texas in Michele’s memory.
