Michelle Ann Duerksen's Obituary
Michelle Ann (Trelford) Duerksen was born August 5, 1958, in St. Louis, Missouri. She grew up in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Livonia, Michigan. She graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a bachelor’s degree in Nursing in 1980 and moved to Dallas, Texas. There she met her husband, Doug Duerksen, and they were married in December 1982. Michelle worked as a home health nurse and discharge planner until 1993. In 1990 she and her husband adopted their daughters, April and Amy. The joy of her life was to be a stay at home mom and homeschool her children and, later, to be “Grammy” to her granddaughters. Michelle passed away July 2, 2017, at which time, in the twinkling of an eye, she came into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Lou Trelford; her youngest daughter, Amy; and a sister in law, Laura. She is survived by her husband, Doug, daughter, and son in law April and Anthony Hines and granddaughters Elena and Nyema Hines. She is also survived by one sister, Karen, and two brothers, John and Tim, along with their spouses and numerous nieces and nephews and their families. The family will recieve friends on Thursday, July 6, 2017, from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Restland Funeral Home. Service for Michelle will be held on July 7, 2017, at 11:00 AM in The Memorial Chapel at Restland Funeral Home.
