Mickey Lynn Shaw's Obituary
Mickey Lynn Shaw of Rowlett, Texas passed away December 12, 2017. Mickey was born July 5, 1943 in Royse City, Texas to Herman and Lizzie Shaw. Mickey was a kind, loving gentleman. He was always willing to listen and never met a stranger. Mickey loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He spent countless hours learning about the Bible and studying the Word. Mickey served his country in Vietnam and was part of the 577th Engineering Battalion (Army). Mickey was also a US Letter Carrier for 27 years. He would spend countless hours creating music and sending comfort items monthly to soldiers serving in Desert Storm, he did this for over 10 years. Mickey was a proud Royse City Bulldog!! He is preceded in death by both his parents; Herman Leslie Shaw and Lizzie Viola Shaw; Brothers Wendall Lloyd Shaw and Rodney Odell Shaw; and father figures Ted Claycom and Toogie Pierce. Mickey is survived by his loving wife of 51 years Dianne Dodson Shaw; Son Jason Shaw and wife Cindy Leigh; sister Jaunell Shaw Canup, Judy Shaw Knight (David); brother Jerrell Glen Shaw (Kay); sister-in-law Patsy Ruth Shaw, Connie Dodson, Judy Crowder (Richard), and ornery brother-in-law John E. Dodson; numerous nephews, nieces, friends and Brother-In-Arms. Visitation will be Sunday, December 17, 2017 from 2:00 pm-4:00 pm at Restland Funeral Home in Dallas, Texas. Funeral Services will be held December 18, 2017 at 11:00 am in the Lake Pointe Church Chapel located at 701 East Interstate 30, Rockwall, TX 75087. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Salvation Army or Lake Pointe Church Haiti Clinic Mission.
