Mildred Elaine Bickel's Obituary
NETTLE, MILDRED ELAINE was born on February 21, 1932 in Wichita Falls, Texas to William Edward Nettle and Blanche Jackson Nettle and died peacefully at her home in Dallas on July 11, 2012, surrounded by her family. Mildred graduated from Highland Park High School and received her B.B.A. from Southern Methodist University where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma. She served as an executive in the Insurance industry for over forty years and was an Idlewild debutante, Chairman of the Crystal Charity Ball, and member of the Dallas Country Club and Junior League of Dallas. Mildred was a member of Highland Park Presbyterian Church and recently attended St. Matthew’s Episcopal Cathedral. Preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Lucia Nettle Sanders, Mildred is survived by her son, Louis Phillip Bickel Jr., and his wife Alaine; grandchildren, Laurie, Margaret, and Louis Bickel III; brothers, William Nettle Jr. and Cecil Nettle, all of Dallas; cousin Jack Williams of Vernon, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family gratefully thanks Rita Rocha and Maria Williams for their loving care of Mildred. A graveside service will be Saturday July 14, at 3:00 pm at Restland Memorial Park. Memorial service will be held on Monday, July 16 at 2:00 pm at St. Matthew’s Cathedral, 5100 Ross Avenue, Dallas, Texas 75206. In lieu of customary remembrances, Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Matthew’s Cathedral.
