Mildred Woodson Harper's Obituary
Mildred was born on July 31, 1929 and raised in Denton, Texas. She was the eighth and last child of Lucius Rives Woodson and Bertha Amelia Woodson. Mildred enjoyed a fun life growing up in Denton on Bernard Street. She fell in love and married Thurman D. Harper, raising three children with him. She enjoyed an active life in Plano, TX and was a member of the First Assembly of God Church since the 1950’s. She held her church family close to her heart and considered them very special. Mildred is survived by a brother Marion Woodson of Irving, TX and a sister, Bertha Millhollin of Whittier, CA; her three children, DeWayne Harper (Angela), Dennis Harper (Molly), and Teresa Fluitt (Logan); granddaughters, Sarah Vanek, Amy Harper, and Laura Harper; and grandsons Matthew Harper and Bobby Bunch. She was also fortunate to have many nieces and nephews whom she loved and cherished greatly. Mildred Harper had an enduring faith in the Lord above throughout her life. She now rests with him and her beloved husband. Visitation will be from 5 to 8PM Wednesday September 24, 2008 at Restland Funeral Home. Service will be at 11AM Thursday September 25, 2008 at First Assembly of God, 1609 14th St., Plano, TX 75074. Graveside service to follow at 3PM in Roselawn Memorial Park, Denton, TX.
