Mildred Oleta James' Obituary
Born January 2, 1921 in Mineral Wells, TX and passed away December 14, 2008 in Richardson, TX. Mildred spent most of her childhood and early adult years in Stonewall County, TX where her father and family worked a farm near Old Glory, TX. Preceded in death by her parents, Hill and Emma Sawyers, four sisters and one brother and her devoted husband of 68 years, Morris F. James. She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Brenda James; granddaughters and their husbands, Jennifer and Brandon Toombs and Joanna and Jordan Frazer and greatgrandchildren, Gracie Bea Toombs, Wyatt James Toombs and Owen James Frazer (all of Dallas) and a number of nieces and nephews and countless friends. Morris and Mildred James lived life together with genuine joy, deep affection and an enduring commitment to helping make their world a better place. After their marriage in 1939, the couple worked their farm land until after WWII. After brief business excursions in Des Moines, Iowa and Spokane, Washington, the couple returned to Texas to be near family as they raised their son, Larry. A resident of Richardson since 1953, Mildred was an active member of the Richardson East Church of Chirst for almost 50 years. A fulltime homemaker, she was known by all as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and greatgrandmother and a true friend to everyone she knew. She cared about her community, her church, her family and her friends – all of whom occupied her attention. There will be a family reception Tuesday, December 16 from 6:00-8:00PM at Restland Funeral Home with services at 10:00AM, Wednesday, December 17 at Restland Memorial Chapel. Dr. John Siburt and Mr. Edd Eason officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations are encouraged to Richardson East Church of Christ CARE CORPS, a ministry to area families in need.
