Mildred Castle Mcmath's Obituary
MCMATH, MILDRED CASTLE passed away June 29, 2008 in Dallas, TX. Services are planned for 12:30 PM, Wednesday, July 2, 2008 in Restland Wildwood Chapel with burial following in Restland Field of Honor. John R. and Dr. Dorothy Castle will officiate. Mildred was born in Fannin County, Texas on Valentine’s Day, February 14th, 1922 to Texas pioneers, Charley Washington Castle and Bessie Mae Cunningham Castle. She attended the 3P schools and graduated from Wolf City High School. She married Dallas businessman, J.B. McMath, Jr. in 1941. As a mother and homemaker, she became active in Scouts and P.T.A. She served as Dallas City Council P.T.A. president during the 1961 to 1962 school year. During the sixties, she and her husband became involved in the Charismatic Movement, hosting prayer meetings in their home in Dallas and later in Guadalajara, Mexico, where they served as lay missionaries from 1969 to 1982. They were affiliated with the Missionary Revival Crusade organization. Mildred is preceded in death by her husband J.B., her granddaughter, Vanessa McMath Allen, and her grandson, John B. McMath IV. She is survived by her son, John B. McMath III and wife, Linda; her son, Charley Castle McMath and wife, Gwen; her daughter, Gwendolyn Davidson and husband, Jim; her grandchildren, Heather Danamraj and husband, Shreen, Cynthia McMath, Amber Surguy and husband, Neil, Robin Tower and husband, Austin; great grandchildren, Evie and Emerson Danamraj and Robert Charles Surguy, as well as many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. She is lovingly remembered as Mother, Grandmother, ‘Aunt Cookie’ and ‘Johnny’s Aunt Mildred’.
