Mildred Lorene Ruiz's Obituary
RUIZ, MILDRED LORENE born July 20, 1931 in Bonham, TX and passed away August 14, 2012 in Mesquite, TX. Raised in Bonham Texas, a daughter of a farmer, Mildred had dreams of living in the big city. She followed her sister Jean to Ft. Worth in where she quickly established herself with the help of her family; after all, her father gave her one month to make it or he would make her move back to Bonham. Mildred was a determined, passionate, and headstrong character. She was a spitfire with the best of them and always voiced her opinion. She deeply cherished the love of her life for 50 years, Salvador Lara Ruiz. Together they raised two children, Brenda and Salvador Jr. Her beloved husband passed in 2006 and Mildred’s heart was never filled again. Also preceding Mildred in passing; her parents Roy and Vera Nichols Dewoody and sister Margaret Smith. Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Brenda Ruiz Arabie and husband Lee; son Salvador Lara Ruiz Jr.; Granddaughter Angeline Thibault and husband Graham; Grandson Nicholas Allemand; Great Grandchildren Abigail Kolb, Gabriel Thibault, and Alexandra Thibault; Sister Jean Whitehead and husband Ronald; Brother Billy Dewoody and wife Barbara; Adopted son Jeremy Potter; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family wishes to express their deepest thanks to those who assisted Mildred over the years; Cindi Neely Mayeux and her family for taking care of Mildred in her last days; Theresa from the bank who always helped Mildred with a smile and patience; and the numerous neighbors who chipped in and helped her which allowed her to stay in the home she loved so dearly; also to anyone who ever said a prayer or assisted her in any way. Rosary will be 7:00 PM, Friday, August 17, 2012 at Restland Memorial Chapel. Service will be held at 12:30 PM, Saturday, August 18 at Restland Memorial Chapel. Graveside service will be at 9:30 AM, Monday, August 20 at DFW National Cemetery in Dallas, TX
