Miles Edward Range's Obituary
Miles Edward Range Sr., 95 of Dallas Texas passed away peacefully January 6, 2017. He was a longtime member of Webb Chapel United Methodist Church in Farmers Branch. Miles is preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Gertrude “Pinkie” Range. He was an accountant for 50 years. His career began at age 17 with the Loose-Wiles Biscuit Company in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and ended with his retirement at age 67 with Barden’s in Dallas. He served in the U.S Navy during World War II and served aboard LCI-370 (Land Craft Infantry) in the Pacific. His ship was part of the invasion fleet at Okinawa. He is survived by his daughter, Barbara A. McClure and her husband Richard; son, Miles E. Range Jr. and his wife Susan; son, David E. Range and his wife Dianne; and son, John Range and his wife Sandi. Mr. Range is also survived by his nine grandchildren: Clinton Range and his wife Kristine, Leah Michaels and her husband David, Elizabeth and husband Eric, Christie Range, Christoper Range, Jenna Vandevene and husband Dana , Luke Range and his wife Ellen , Ethan Range and Grayson Handy; and his four great-grandchildren, Chloe and Jack Ipsen and Sean and Eoghan Range. Miles was our dad, Grandpa, and Great Grandpa. We will miss his wisdom, guidance, and sense of humor that he and our mother instilled in all of us that has seen us through both good and bad times. Rest in eternal peace. We love you. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 from 5 – 7:00 PM at Restland Funeral Home in staterooms N-O. Funeral service will be on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at 12:30 PM at Restland Memorial Park in the Wildwood Chapel with Rev. Lynda Mayberry of Webb Chapel United Methodist Church officiating. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243.
