Millard Howland's Obituary
Millard Leon Howland was born September 22, 1923 in Clarksville TX and passed away January 6, 2021 in Richardson TX.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Frankie Jane and son, Floyd Jack Howland. He is survived by his children Cynthia Bills and husband Steve, Vanessa Climer and husband Rickey, James Howland and wife Suzanne. grand children Dana, Andrea, Jeffery, Chris, Nicole; and 10 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild and a twin brother William Leo Howland
He was born on a farm in Red River County. This is where he learned that it would take a lot of hard work to survive in this life. He entered the Army at the age of 18, where he was assigned to Battery “A” 938th Feld Artillery Battalion. He rose to the rank of Sergeant and was one of the youngest Chief Tank Crewman. He was in several battles all over Europe, including one of the most major battles “The battle of the bulge”. After his completion of active duty, he returned to Bowie TX where he went to work in the oil fields and meet the love of his life Frankie Jane Roach, and as Dad would say “they got hitched”. They relocated to Garland Tx and started a family where they lived for over 60 years. He was a generous and kind man who had a deep love for God and family. He was an active church member, that participated in the bus and jail ministries for a number of years.
Family will receive friends at his viewing on Tuesday 1/12/21 3-5 pm at Restland Funeral Home (Mask Required)
Service will be held Wednesday 1/13/21 at 9:30 am in the Memorial chapel at Restland Funeral Home
