Minna Christine Moravec's Obituary
Minna ‘Cris’ Moravec passed away December 31, 2014 into God’sloving embrace. She was born January 12, 1927 in Denison, Texas to Albert and Gertrude Krattiger. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers and her husband, Adolph ‘Al’ Moravec. She is survived by sons Randolph (Kerry) of Richardson and David of Chicago. Cris was blessed with five grandchildren – Matthew (Margaret) Moravec, Tacoma, Washington; Kacie (Byron) Bevers, Shenandoah, Texas; Emily Moravec, Shanghai, China; Calvin Moravec, Chicago; and Katrina Moravec, Chicago – as well as a great granddaughter, Eleanor Bevers. Cris and Al met while he was attending Southern Methodist University on the GI Bill and married September 21, 1949 in Denison. Cris was active in sports and an accomplished tennis player. She taught tennis to hundreds of players, specializing in youth instruction. She taught at Midtown Athletic Club and Tam O’ Shanter Racquet Club while living in the Chicago area, and the T Bar M Racquet Club in San Antonio. Cris and Al were active members of St. Thomas Episcopal Church in San Antonio. She was a Lay Eucharistic Minister at the church and managed the church’s acolyte program. Cris is remembered by her family and friends as a loving and generous woman who had the uncanny ability to help and get assistance from total strangers. A memorial service will be held at Church of the Epiphany Episcopal Church, located at 421 Custer Rd., Richardson, TX 75080 at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 6th. Memorials in lieu of flowers may be made to either the Network of Community Ministries or the Greater Dallas Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association.
