Minnie Walden's Obituary
Walden, Minnie was born on December 19, 1923 in Eustace, Texas and passed away on May 29, 2014 in Dallas, Texas. She is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Glenn Walden; sisters, Mae Pearl McLauchlin Lacy and Myrtle Lou Sutherland Banks; brothers, Walter, Clarence, Earnest, Dan, Homer, Elmo, and Chester Dickerson; and nephews, David McLauchlin and Tommy Walden. Minnie grew up in Mabank, Texas and later moved to Dallas where she met her future husband, Glenn Walden. After they were married they moved to Mesquite where she continued to live for 68 years. Minnie worked for 1st National Bank in Dallas as a teller and when the bank changed its name to Bank of America, she went to work in the payroll department. She retired after 47 years, and continued to do the things she loved especially quilting, needle point, reading and crocheting. She was an avid Dallas Cowboy Fan. Minnie is survived by her nieces, Sheila McLauchlin, and Vickie McLauchlin Rose and husband, David; nephew, Jeffrey McLauchlin; brother-in-law, Billy Lacy; grand niece, Ashley Rose Elliott and husband, Austin; great nephews, Jason Rose and Stephen McLauchlin and wife, Meagan; great-great nephew and niece, Bishop and Sutton McLauchlin; niece, Judy Stipp; beloved dog, Romo; and many other nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Service will be at 3:00 PM on Sunday, June 1, 2014 at Restland Wildwood Chapel, with visitation one hour prior.
