Miriam Macel Wilhite's Obituary
WILHITE, MIRIAM MACEL ADAMS 85, of Plano, TX passed quietly on April, 19, 2014 to be with her Lord and Savior. She was born to the late Louis B. and Katy Adams on April 29, 1928, in Logansport, Louisiana. Miriam graduated from Logansport High School in 1945 and received a B.A. in Home Economics from Louisiana Tech University in 1949. She married Julius Benton Wilhite on June 5, 1949, and they lived together in several places before relocating to Plano in 1981. Miriam was a high school Home Economics teacher until she became a full time housewife and mother in 1959. Miriam was also an active member of Prestonwood Baptist Church. She immensely enjoyed participating in Bible study and also loved volunteering in church activities. Miriam also loved to travel, and took over 25 cruises all over the world with her husband of nearly 65 years. Miriam was a beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who is survived by her husband, Julius Benton Wilhite of Plano, TX and her two children, Suzanne Horn of Frisco, TX and husband, Michael Horn; and Randall Wilhite of Houston, TX. and wife, Alison Wilhite; and brother, Wayne Adams. Miriam is aslo survived by seven grandchildren, Michele Horn, Natalie Newton and her husband, Robert Newton, Amber Horn, Kimberly Orr and her husband, Ryan Orr and Adam Wilhite and his wife, Elizabeth Wilhite, Kathryn Gilmartin and Suzannah Gilmartin; and three great grandchildren, Haley Newton, Nicholas Newton and Brennan Orr. Friends and family are welcome to pay their last respects to Miriam during a viewing which will be held between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at Restland Funeral Home, 1305 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, Texas 75243. The funeral service will be held at Restland Memorial Chapel at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 23, 2014, with a grave side burial to follow at Restland Cemetery.
