Mrs. MiShawn "MiMi" Wilson-Smith's Obituary
MiShawn Wilson-Smith was born on September 22, 1971, at 11:13am, in Culver City, California. She was the second daughter born to Wilfert and Sandra Ione Wilson. From an early age MiShawn was a sweet, mindful, and loving child. She attended Gardena Valley Christian Elementary School, where she was introduced to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She then went on to Ramona Junior High School. MiShawn later attended and graduated from Don Antonio Lugo High School in 1989. She then attended Citrus College, Glendora, CA.
MiShawn went to work for Pacific Bell while working towards her associate degree. She started her career as a 411 operator and soared through the ranks, becoming a Communication Technician for AT&T. In 2005, MiShawn was transferred from the San Diego, California Office to the Richardson, Texas Office. She enjoyed her work and many colleagues, making her time at AT&T an unforgettable experience. MiShawn retired after 30 years and 6 months of hard work and dedication from the AT&T, Richardson, Texas Office on December 30, 2021.
On February 25, 1995, MiShawn met the Love of Her Life, Terrance Lyndle Smith in Las Vegas, Nevada. They dated for a short time (8 months) and on October 10, 1995, MiShawn and Terrance were joined in holy matrimony as husband and wife. The Lord blessed them with two beautiful children, a son born on June 17, 1997, Jamaree Oshae Smith, and a daughter born on August 14, 2000, Jaelyn Azjanae Smith. The Lord later blessed her with two wonderful grandchildren, a granddaughter Nova Remy Smith born on March 6, 2022, and a grandson Carter Josiah Smith born on Thanksgiving Day, November 24, 2023. MiShawn was overjoyed to be a grandmother, wanting to be called MiMi.
In 2010, MiShawn and family joined Northeast Bible Church (NEBC) in Plano, Texas, under the leadership of Pastor Robert Rice. She was baptized on March 27, 2011, along with her two beautiful children Jamaree and Jaelyn. MiShawn was a faithful member of NEBC, where she had served in the Usher’s Ministry, The Women’s Ministry, and The Outreach Ministry.
MiShawn and her beloved husband Terrance spent 29 years together. They danced in Jamaica, snorkeled Belize, and rode ATVs in Hawaii. She was an avid lover of new things, one of her favorite things to do was to try new foods at different restaurants and they traveled all over the world doing just that. MiShawn loved the outdoors, walking for miles at the park and bike riding through her many different neighborhoods, with her husband and children. She loved people making friends wherever she happened to be. MiShawn was a sweet, gentle, neat, smart, and passionate woman. She never shied away from any challenges; in fact, she attacked them head on. She was a feisty young lady, who always accomplished what she set out to do. Her Love and tenacity for life will truly be missed by her family and everyone that knew her.
