In Loving Memory of Mohammad Hossein Alavizadeh
It is with deep sorrow and profound love that we announce the passing of Mohammad Hossein Alavizadeh, lovingly known as "Chris," who passed away peacefully on July 12, 2026.
Chris was a devoted father, proud grandfather, and cherished friend whose humor, generosity, and compassion touched the lives of many. He is survived by his daughter, Nina, and her husband, Cody Smith; his beloved granddaughter, Allie; his former wife of 20 years, Lilly Castillo; and many extended family members and friends who will miss him greatly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Taghi and Fatin Alavizadeh; his brothers, Sadry, Nooradin, and Mohsen; and his sisters, Azadeh and Mahin.
Born in Iran, Chris came to the United States in his early twenties to continue his education and build a new life. He proudly became an American citizen and spent more than 50 years calling the United States home. Throughout his life, he was known for his charm, determination, sense of humor, and ability to connect with people from all walks of life.
Nothing brought Chris greater joy than being a father to Nina “His life” and later a grandfather to Allie. He loved bringing people together through food and was happiest when cooking for family and friends. His kebabs and homemade Caesar dressing were favorites that became lasting family traditions.
Chris also had a passion for style and took pride in always looking his best. Whether dressed in one of his many “sharp” suits or a carefully chosen outfit, he carried himself with confidence and unmistakable flair.
Chris will be remembered for his warmth, quick wit, generosity, and ability to make people feel welcome. His presence brought laughter, comfort, and friendship to those around him. While his loss leaves an immeasurable void, the memories he created and the love he shared will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew him.
He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all whose lives he touched.
A service will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at Restland Funeral Home. Following Islamic tradition, the ceremony will take place at the burial site, with no viewing or visitation beforehand. Please use the link below for directions to the ceremony location.
