Mohammad Taghi Haddad-Farshi's Obituary
Mohammad T. Haddad-Farshi was born on February 21, 1946 in Tabriz, Iran, to father and mother Morteza and Zara Haddad-Farshi. Mohammad’s birth was preceded by that of his sister, Nayer, and brother, Hossein.
His younger years were spent growing up in the mountain ranges of Tehran where he was his brother’s biggest admirer and his sister’s appointed protector. He developed a love for Persian cooking while making cherished memories in the kitchen with his mother. It was also during this time that his passion for business began to ignite as he began to learn the family business, Haddad & Sons, under the guidance of his father.
In 1977, Mohammad traveled to the United States with his brother, where he studied business administration at The Braniff Graduate School - University of Dallas, and ultimately earned a Master of Business Administration in 1979. After having graduated, Mohammad met and later married his then-wife, Carol. They began a family in 1986 with the birth of their first daughter, Natalie, later followed by their youngest daughter, Madeline, in 1987. He supported his family as an entrepreneur, having several successful businesses selling Persian rugs and developing a line of modern home décor products.
Mohammad had a deep passion for his culture and an unwavering pride for his Iranian roots. For this reason, and although having lived in the United States for the majority of his life, he chose to maintained his Iranian citizenship until he was in his 70’s, but eventually sought and was awarded U.S. citizenship in 2017.
Mohammad was a dreamer, knowledge seeker, and a lover of architecture, art, fashion, and dance. He had a vast appreciation for the world’s beauty, both natural and man-made, and his happiest days were spent spending quality time with his daughters wondering the halls of The Dallas Museum of Art or Kimball Art Museum, soaking in the natural beauty at the Dallas Arboretum, or indulging his senses at Bass Performance Hall.
Mohammad’s life was tragically taken on March 30, 2024 in Dallas, Texas. He is survived by his loving daughters, Natalie Haddad-Farshi and Madeline Flatt, sons-in-law Chris Flores and Dustin Flatt, grandson Leo Flores, and unborn grandson Baby Flatt.
