Monia "Mackie" Stokes' Obituary
Monia "Mackie" Stokes, a resident of Kemp, OK, passed away December 9, 2023, at the age of 91. She was born January 1, 1932, in Kemp, Oklahoma to MacArthur Phillips and Goldia Lois (Turnbull). She was member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma and the Eastern Star. She enjoyed going to church, reading, bird watching, and she loved to write letters and send greeting cards. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Douglas Ramey, 2/17/1950 and her second husband, Glendell Stokes, 12/20/1968; her parents, grandparents, one sister, Gloria Sharp and daughter, Sharia Nichols.
Survivors include her son, Kyle Stokes and wife, Debbie of The Colony, TX; four daughters, Mary Jernigan of Antlers, OK, Marty Little of Denison, TX, Mona Swofford of Lake Dallas, TX and Michelle Fluitt and husband, Steve of Ponder, TX; ten grandchildren, Neile Vance, Brian Little, Kevin Stokes, Jeff Swofford, Doug Swofford, Taylor Madiedo, Aaron Jernigan, Kelsey Roach, Patrick Fluitt and Matt Swofford; fourteen great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Brian Little, Colton Little, Doug Swofford, Jeff Swofford, Patrick Fluitt and Steve Fluitt.
