Mora Louise Dillard's Obituary
Dillard, 90, died peacefully Sunday March 9. Louise was born August 12, 1923 at home to Roy and Amanda Pope White in the Love’s Lookout area near Jacksonville, Texas. She was a hard worker and helped provide for her five siblings before graduating from Kilgore Junior College. Following World War II, she married John Fuller Dillard, Jr. August 23, 1947 while both were working for Shell Oil Company in Kilgore. She became a homemaker following her husband’s work in Louisiana and Texas before moving to North Texas in 1958. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and volunteering for various United Methodist Church and civic group activities such as Cub Scouts, Campfire Girls and Meals on Wheels. After raising her family, she returned to the workforce at the Sun Lab in Richardson and later retired from Kerr-McKee. Louise was preceded in death by her husband in 1995; her brother, Robert White and sister, Lois Crawford. She is survived by her sisters, Nancy Penney of Midland, Annette Mayo of Florida and Jeanette Bullock of California; and first cousin, Sallyann Pickle of Tyler. Additionally she is survived by son, John (& Karen) Dillard of Wichita Falls and daughter, Anne (& Gregg) Weger; grandchildren, Jeff (& Jennifer) Dillard of Holliday and Grant Weger & Zack Weger. She is also survived by great-grandchildren, Jackson & Korbin Case and Allie Jean Dillard of Holliday as well as many nieces and nephews. Louise will always be remembered for her beautiful smile and love of life. The family appreciates the work of her care givers at Life Care Center of Plano. Services will be at 12:30 PM Thursday, March 13, 2014 at Restland Wildwood Chapel with the Reverend John B. (Jack) Soper of Arapaho United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Restland Memorial Park, Court of Faith. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
