Moreas Buchanan's Obituary
Moreas Buchanan (née Morrow), 94, passed away January 7th, 2018. Born in Wylie, TX, the fifth child of Lydia and Aye Morrow. She married Reese Buchanan in 1950 and they enjoyed 58 years together blessed with a son and granddaughter. The Buchanans were long time residents of the Forest Hills community in Dallas. Moreas received her nursing degree from Kings’ Daughters School of Nursing and passionately worked helping others as an RN and later as President of the Baylor Auxiliary. An active member in Meadow Gate Garden Club, Women’s Missionary Union, and Lakeside Baptist Church, her sense of community blessed those she shared her company with. An invitation to her home ensured a delicious meal and a welcoming spirit. She was the consummate hostess. A remarkably positive person, her infectious smile and laughter persisted even as her health declined. She would stop anything for the family dominoes game “42,” and her family can attest that she was one of the best players of all time. She was preceded in death by her husband and older siblings. She lives on through her loving family, Michael Buchanan (son), Madison Buchanan Johnson (granddaughter) and husband Will, Onieta Day (sister) and A.B. “Benny” Morrow (brother) as well as extended family and friends.Visitation will be held on Friday, January 12th, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the Abbey Chapel of Restland Memorial Park in Dallas.Services to celebrate her life will be held on Friday, January 12th, at 12:00 p.m. in the Abbey Chapel of Restland Memorial Park in Dallas.
