Mrs. Mozelle Manning Henry's Obituary
Passed away peacefully on November 18, 2008. She was born October 20, 1918 and was a life long resident of Dallas and the surrounding area. She is preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Albert Carl Henry, Jr. Susie graduated from Baylor School of Nursing and worked at Baylor prior to entering the Army Nurse Corp as a Lieutenant at the beginning of WWII. After serving her country, she returned to Dallas where she settled into married life and raised her four children. She was an active member and volunteer of Highland Park United Methodist Church. Susie returned to nursing at the age of fifty-five and worked until her retirement at the age of sixty-five. Upon retirement she began volunteering for Angel Flight and was named National Volunteer of the Year. She is survived by her children, Susan Patterson and her husband Ed of Houston, TX; Dr. A. Carl Henry, III and his wife Barbara of Dallas, TX; Pam Stone and her husband Randy of Austin, TX; Jane Slater and her husband Claude of Jacksonville, FL; and nine grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6-8pm, Thursday, November 20, 2008 at Restland Funeral Home. Service will be held at 2pm, Friday, November 21, 2008 at Highland Park United Methodist Church, Cox Chapel, 3300 Mockingbird Ln., Dallas, TX 75205. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Highland Park United Methodist Church, C.C. Young Retirement Community or the charity of your choice.
