Muriel L. Wilkins' Obituary
Muriel L. Wilkins (Collins) affectionally known as “Nana” by all, passed away peacefully at her home in Allen, Texas on September 17, 2014 surrounded by her family. Muriel was born on February 13, 1930 in Staten Island, New York to Lucy and George Collins. Muriel had a strong faith in God and loved to help others. She was a wonderful wife and mom and loved walking with her husband Bob of nearly 62 years. She loved being a homemaker and when younger loved to do creative birthday cakes for her children. She spent many years being involved in her grandchildren and enjoyed their activities. She lived in Staten Island with her 5 brothers and 4 sisters until she met and married her beloved husband Bob. They then moved to Bob’s homestate of Texas, where she has resided for the last 40 years in Allen, Texas. She leaves behind her husband of nearly 62 years, Bob; daughters, Carol Fredrick and husband, Tom of Round Rock, Texas, Debra Lindsey and husband, Ken of Allen, Texas; son, Glenn Wilkins of Allen, Texas. Her many grandchildren, Sarah Lindsey and Holly Lindsey of Allen, Texas, Krista Fredrick, Joseph Fredrick, Amanda Fredrick of Round Rock, Tx , Kathleen and Dylan Foley of Alice, Texas; Collin and Lindsay Wilkins of Waxachie, Texas and numerous relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Lung Association for Pulmonary Fibrosis. The funeral service for Muriel Wilkins will be at 2:00 PM on Friday, September 19, 2014 at St. Jude Catholic Church with a visitation 1 hour prior to service at the church. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75238.
