Myra Lee Christian's Obituary
It is with deepest heart felt regret that I announce that one’s of Hamilton Park’s eldest Living Legends “95 years old” first Black Beauty Salon owner of the Hamilton Park Beauty Salon in the H P Village has gained her “Angel’s Wings” and transitioned to Heaven on August 16, 2016. Better known as “Aunt Myra” became a household name to ALL in the village. It’s shop’s offspring: Gina, Alma and Marilyn, Brenda and Belinda, Eboni, and many more were raised by her. She sincerely loved her family and also help raised niece’s, nephews Pat, LaRue, Steve, Cedric, Tia and many more. In addition, she so graciously Mentored Salon Operators and several great Stylists were produced such as: Leslie, Laurie, Michelle, Toni, April, and seniors: Eddie Mae, Bessie Mae, Cassie, Billie, Valerie, Pat, George, and many more. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Lorenzo Christian, son – James Christian, and 14 siblings. This Historic HP Legend is what Hamilton Park represents in caring for, empowering and raising the HP Village. She was a pillar in her community and to the Cosmetology Industry, helping pave the way for others. Mrs. Christian was honored in May of 2015 by the City of Dallas to her service to the City of Dallas and the citizens of the prestigious HP Community. Family will receive friends on Thursday, August 25, 2016 from 5-8 PM in the Memorial Chapel at Restland Funeral Home. Service will be held on Friday, August 26, 2016 at 11 AM at the Hamilton Park First Baptist Church. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted into Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, Texas 75243.
