Myrel Kassell's Obituary
KASSELL, MYREL a woman of grace passed away January 7, 2013. Myrel Walker Kassell, a long time resident of Dallas, was born in Bridgeport, Texas and raised in Shamrock. She was the child of Jesse DeRene Walker and Willie Rose Walker. She is preceded in death by her husband, Walter Kassell and son, John Kassell, her parents, and her 5 siblings. She volunteered her time in various community services, was a member of the Cloyse Kenty Garden Club and Lubbock Garden Club. After her children were grown she entered the retail world at Neiman-Marcus and Sakowitz as well as other designer retailers. One of the many highlights of her career was being selected to wait on Queen Noor of Jordan and other notables. Myrel loved to hand write notes to her friends as much as they enjoyed receiving them. She is survived by her daughter, Carol Chauncey; son-in-law, Fred Chauncey; granddaughter, Nicole Chauncey and nephew, James Hall. In her December years she fondly recalled her travels around the world, but of special memory were her seasons spent in Taos, New Mexico. Private graveside services will be held at the East Bridge Cemetery, Bridgeport, Texas.
