Myrtie Lou Arnold's Obituary
Myrtie Lou (Newton) Arnold was born in Lockney, Texas on February 17,1933. She was the beloved daughter of Jessie Echols Newton and Dora Effie Lee Newton. The youngest of eleven children, Myrtie Lou was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Myrtie Lou (Lou) graduated from Lockney High School at the age of 16. She moved to Plainview, Texas to attend secretarial school. She met and married John A. Munselle at the age of seventeen. John and Lou had six children and lived the life of a military family. Living throughout the United States and Asia. In 1982, she married Travis Loyd Arnold of Richardson, Texas. They were married 33 years and lived in Richardson. Between them, Travis and Lou enjoyed eight children, sixteen grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and She and Travis shared many happy visits and holidays with their extended family. Their home was always the hub of family gatherings. Lou is survived by her husband, Travis Arnold, as well as eight children and their families. Teresa and Tom McLaughlin of Atlanta, Georgia, Joni and Peter Berardino of Austin, Texas, Shelly and Tony Mathis of Charlotte, North Carolina, Mark and Lori Arnold of Charlotte, North Carolina, Daniel and Layne Munselle of Kingwood, Texas, Sonya and Mike Rubin of Rowlett, Texas, and Jennifer and Larry Sparks of Frisco, Texas. She was also survived by many nieces and nephews; the children of her ten siblings. Lou was a very special daughter, sister, mother, aunt and Grandmother. She made a significant impact on every life she touched. The visitation for Myrtie Arnold will be from 3:00 to 5:00 PM Saturday, January 30, 2016 at Restland Funeral Home. The service for Myrtie will be held on Sunday, January 31, 2016 at 11:00 AM in The Memorial Chapel at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75243.
