Myrtie Sue Ubben's Obituary
Myrtie Sue Boyd Ubben died peacefully at home on Saturday, September 9, 2017, at the age of 92. The daughter of John and Myrtie Boyd, Sue was born on April 15, 1925, in Fayetteville, GA, the youngest of 8 children. The family moved to Fairburn, GA, and it was there that she spent her childhood. After high school graduation and a brief time working in Atlanta, she went to Florida to help her eldest sister, who had been widowed, raise three small children. She also volunteered at the local USO and it was there that she met James Ubben. They were married on June 7, 1946, in Fairburn. They moved to Texas and Sue became the wedding coordinator at the A. Harris Department Store. She left the workforce to be a full-time wife and mother.She is survived by four children: Cindy, her husband Scott; Ted, his wife Dru; Carol, her husband Robert, and Leigh Ann; grandchildren: Adam, Molly, Dillon, Beau, Ashley, Jett, Cash, Baron, Traci, Erin and Sarah; great grandchildren: Lyla, Wren and Noah. She will be interred with James at Restland Cemetery in Dallas.The funeral service will be held at Restland Memorial Chapel on September 15, 2017, at 2:30 PM.Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243.
