Nancy, beloved sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, peacefully passed away on February 19, 2024, surrounded by her family. She was 84.
Born on December 11, 1939, in the picturesque town of Cisne, Illinois, Nancy's life was marked by dedication to her loved ones, a commitment to kindness and compassion, and an unwavering faith for solace and strength.
Nancy was a woman of diverse talents and boundless creativity. Her passions for gardening, sewing, crocheting, quilting, and cooking were not merely hobbies but expressions of her vibrant spirit and unwavering dedication to beauty and artistry. Each creation bore the imprint of her heart and soul, promising to be cherished by those fortunate enough to have known her.
Nancy's journey was one of resilience and love. As a devoted wife to her husband Herbert H. Beebe, she shared 64 years of cherished memories, support, and partnership. They were married on November 27, 1959, at Gunion Christian Church in Cisne, Illinois. Together, they built a home filled with laughter, warmth, and togetherness.
A nurturing mother, Nancy leaves behind a legacy of love in her daughters Melissa and Amelia. She dedicated her life to nurturing their dreams, imparting wisdom, and instilling the values of integrity, faith, and empathy. Nancy's unconditional love knew no bounds, and her children find solace in the countless memories of her guidance and her famous blackberry cobbler.
Nancy's role as a grandmother brought her immeasurable joy. She adored her grandchildren: Maddie, Molly, Andy, Nathan, and Evan. She treasured every moment spent creating memories, sharing stories, and communicating her boundless love and wisdom to them. They will remember her unconditional love, warm hugs, and how she allowed them to stand with the refrigerator door open for long periods while deciding on a snack.
Nancy's spiritual journey was anchored with her baptism at Gunion Christian Church on Easter Sunday of 1950, a sacred moment that illuminated her unflinching commitment to her faith. Through the years she shared her faith in various ways from volunteering to lead Vacation Bible School, cooking for Wednesday night dinners, and serving as a member of the Mission Committee. She has been a member of Disciples of Christ church in Carrollton, Valley View Christian Church in Dallas, and Webb Chapel Church of Christ in Farmers Branch.
Nancy will forever be remembered for her warm smile, compassionate heart, and devotion to her family and friends. Her legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her. Though Nancy may have left this earthly realm, her spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who were touched by her love, compassion, and grace.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents Merle and Geneva, her step-father Lowell Leathers, and her brother Tim Nunnallee.
Nancy is survived by her husband, Herbert H. Beebe; her daughters, Melissa (Scott) Riggs and Amelia (James) Palmer; her grandchildren, Madaline (Thom) Dabrow, Molly Riggs, Andrew Riggs, Nathan Palmer, and Evan Palmer.
Additionally, she leaves behind sisters Norma Jean Leathers and Janice Warren; sister-in-law Becky Nunnallee; brothers Mike Nunnallee and Bruce (Nida) Nunnallee as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
In honoring Nancy's memory, her family invites friends and loved ones to join in a celebration of her life at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, March 1, 2024, at Webb Chapel Church of Christ 13425 Webb Chapel Rd, Farmers Branch, TX 75234.
