Nancy Elizabeth Blackburn's Obituary
Nancy Eliabeth West Blackburn was born October 31, 1935 in Louisville, Ky. She passed away July 12, 2025 in Dallas, Tx. She was the daughter of Alice T. West and LT. West Sr.
Nancy “Nanny Nan” leaves behind a legacy of love, fierce independence, and a free spirited nature. She was a loving mother to son, Cy West Blackburn, married to Kim Kells Blackburn, and daughter Daneille Blackburn Tooker, married to Jeff Tooker. She was very proud of her grandchildren Gabby, Ying Ying, Zhen and Ty Blackburn.
Nancy valued education and returned to college after her kids went to school. She graduated with her Bachelor, Master’s and finally her PhD in Marriage and Family Therapy.
Her happiest years were spent in Florida where she learned to sail, golf and play tennis. She decided to retire in Florida after leaving Texas. Nancy also leaves behind a legacy of love for her 4 legged children. Nancy always had a cat and when the children were growing up the household included dogs, cats, iguanas and finches. Nancy’s zest for life and feisty personality left her family with many hilarious stories of her antics. The West family includes many independent women, her sisters and her mother. Nancy rests with them now and we know God broke the mold when he created her.
