Nancy Hallman Cason's Obituary
Nancy Hallman Cason, aged 90, went to be with our heavenly father on February 14th, 2024 in Garland, Texas. She was born on December 9th, 1933 to Berta and W.P. (Bill) Hallman in Dallas, Texas.
In her early years she attended Vickery Grade School, then graduated from Hillcrest High School in 1951. After graduation she began working as a secretary for the Wall Street Journal. During her time as a secretary, she met and fell in love with Bob Cason, who was working as a linotype operator at the Wall Street Journal. It was love at first sight and they were married the following year on March 6th, 1952. Nancy and Bob welcomed their daughter, Sheryl Ann Cason on April 4th, 1955, and their son, David Cason on February 6th, 1957. Nancy and her family spent their lives in Garland where Bob worked as a firefighter for 34 years before retiring from the Garland Fire Department in 1997.
Nancy grew to be a faithful believer and loyal member of Believers Chapel in Dallas, Texas. In the spring of 1967, Nancy was saved by the sovereign grace of God, without merit or work. Ephesians 2;8,9. Acts 4:12. John 15:16.
In her later years, Nancy grew an interest in genealogy and began the journey of looking into her family history in 1993. Soon after, she joined the Garland Genealogical Society in 1994 where she served as Vice President from 1997-1998. She was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolutionary (DAR) beginning in 1999.
Nancy was also a proficient cross stitcher and enjoyed watching game shows and trivia. She was also an avid reader, having read all the books in her elementary school library twice.
Nancy is preceded by her parents, Berta and W.P. (Bill) Hallman.
She is survived by her loving and faithful husband, Bob Cason; her daughter, Sheryl Ann Cason; her son, David Cason; her sister, Betty Jean Hoover; grandchildren; Joanna Garcia, Stephen McDowell, James McDowell, Kathleen McDowell, Samuel Cason, and Timothy Cason. She is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside committal service is scheduled for February 20th, 2024 at 2:00PM at Restland Memorial Park in the Garden of Floral Hill.

A time of fellowship with the family will be held at the Cason residence immediately following the graveside service.
