Nancy Darden's Obituary
Darden, Nancy Clark Ince Born December 14, 1937 in Dallas, Texas, died on December 7, 2010, when she lost a most sudden battle with cancer. Preceded in death by her parents Winford Wilson and Eugenia Helm Ince, and her eldest son, Patrick Scott Darden. She is survived by sons, Gary Helm Darden, Christopher Mark Darden and wife Diana Renee Darden; grandchildren, Grace Elisabeth Darden and Blake Riley Darden; sister, Betty Ince and husband Tom F. Hughston; niece, Susan Hughston Bogard; nephew, Tom A. Hughston. Her boys wish to acknowledge their father, Dr. Terry Arnold Darden; Gail Crump, her dearest best friend; and the devotion and support of Michael J. Lumby. Like her father and children, Nancy graduated Highland Park High School, and attended SMU briefly before spending three years at the University of Texas at Austin, a place she loved dearly and was a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority, the same sorority as her mother, sister, and niece. After college she was a model for the Kim Dawson Agency and Nieman Marcus. She was in the Junior League and served as Den Mother and Home Room Mother. Nancy was a devoted mother who cherished her three boys and all of her beloved cats and dogs. Everyone who knew her enjoyed her beautiful smile, incredible sense of humor, and contagious laughter. Nancy loved fashion and served her many loyal customers for years at the Carriage Shop, Barry Bricken, and the Carlisle Group. She was a longtime member of University Park Methodist Church where all three of her boys were baptized and confirmed. Like her mother, she has donated her body to the Willed Body Program at Southwestern Medical Center. A memorial service will be held on her 73rd birthday: Tuesday, December 14, 2010, 3:30 pm at Restland Memorial Chapel, officiated by Rev. Thomas Q Robbins, with a reception to follow.
