Nancy Dollar's Obituary
Nancy had a radiant smile that could light up a room and was known for her infectious and boisterous laugh. In her early years, she enjoyed Girls Scouts camps at Lake Texoma and went on to become an avid boater and part of the Power Squadron at Lake Texoma. As a mother, she continued to be active as a Girl Scouts Troop Leader. She grew up in the Casa Linda area of Dallas and graduated from Bryan Adams High School. She went to Texas Tech University and later to Central State University in Edmond, OK. Her ties stayed true to being a Red Raider. Nancy was a hard worker and worked at as many as three jobs to support her family. She assisted where she could with the 1995 Oklahoma Bombing tragedy and volunteered with FEMA following the 1999 tornado which devastated Moore, Oklahoma. She enjoyed music, especially classic rock. She instilled the love of music to her daughter Laura. Nancy loved shopping, socializing and being on the go. She didn’t want life to pass her by. She is survived by her daughter Laura Knott, her brother and his wife Dennis & Linda Steele and their two children Stephanie and Steven Steele and grand-niece Kailyn Steele. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name can be made to the American Diabetes Association at www.diabetes.org/donate. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, 06/10/2017 at the Wildwood Chapel at Restland Memorial Park. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243.
