Nancy Sue Ferrell's Obituary
FERRELL, NANCY SUE of Garland, Texas passed from this life to the next November 10, 2012 at the age of 48 after a months-long battle with ALS. Nancy was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on March 22, 1964 to Dortha and Jim Ferrell. Nancy moved to Richardson, Texas with her family in 1978 and graduated from Berkner High School. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Texas at Dallas in 1990 and later a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology from the University of Phoenix in 2008. Nancy was known for the incredible kindness shown to all who knew her, always offering help and support to a friend or family member. She selflessly cared for her ailing mother for fifteen years, offering companionship during the difficult journey of her last years. Earlier this year, Nancy began to display the symptoms of the disease that would so quickly claim first speech, then strength, and – ultimately – life. She faced the inevitability of her death with grace, courage, and irrepressible humor. Always committed to her faith in God, Nancy drew strength from her beliefs to carry her through the unrelenting deprivations of this disease. Nancy was preceded in death by her mother, Dortha Ferrell, in 2010. Nancy is survived by her father, Jim Ferrell and stepmother, Barbara; and her sister, Sue Baldor and husband, Kevin. A memorial service will be held at Restland Wildwood Chapel in Dallas on Friday, November 16, 2012 at 12:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the MDA at http://mda.org/
