Nancy Lee Norton's Obituary
On the evening of May 11, 2019, Nancy Lee Norton of Murchison, Texas went to be with our Lord at the age of 85. Nancy was born to William and Gladys Norton of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania in 1934. Nancy graduated from High School in Lakeland, Floria in 1952. Her work history was diverse and challenging. She was a machinist, a book binder, truck driver, Mary Kay Representative, and factory assembly worker. Her interest in performing arts led her to the Athens theater Group and production of “12 Angry Men”. She was in the choir at Casa View Christian Church in Dallas, but later moved to East Texas to retire. Nancy was a cherished friend to many. a loving daughter, sister, wife, grandmother, and aunt.Nancy was preceded in death by her mother, Gladys Norton, her father, William Norton, her sister, Jean Lanier and her daughter, Jean Louise Downing Jaillet Smith.She is survived by her three remaining children, William (Bill) Downing of Plano, Texas, Richard Downing of Murchison, Texas, and laura Downing Tabor of Garland, Texas and her beloved niece, Patricia Davis of Gulf Breeze, Florida. Her grandchildren, Michael Jaillet of Springdale, Arkansas,Eugene Tabor of Richardson, Texas and Rusty Smith of Gainsville, Texas.
