Nancy Mallard Bradshaw Reed's Obituary
Nancy Mallard Bradshaw Reed was born in Dallas on July 11, 1942, and passed away in Dallas on February 26, 2025, due to Lewy Body Dementia. She was the beloved daughter of Marvin E. Bradshaw, Sr. and Emogene Frey Bradshaw.
Nancy attended Thomas Jefferson High School and later Texas Tech University, where she met Larry Pelt (deceased 1989). They married in 1963 at Lovers Lane Methodist Church in Dallas and had two sons, Roland Brian Pelt of Dallas, and Randall Craig Pelt (deceased June 2023).
Nancy had a fulfilling career in product advertising, working with companies such as Pizza Inn, Fuddruckers, and the famous Fletcher's Corny Dogs. In 1978, she married Robert “Bob” Reed in Dallas. They moved to San Antonio in 1987, where Nancy transitioned to a career in retail residential furniture, furnishings, and interior design. She also earned a Paralegal certification, purely for the joy of learning.
Nancy was a top seller at Stowers Furniture Store each year. She had a deep love for her pets, including her Basset hound, Annie Mae Hall, and her Siamese cats, Alex and Nicholas. A talented chef, she could recreate the covers of Bon Appetit holiday issues. Nancy was an avid reader and a huge fan of Daniel Silva's works. She also had a passion for Texas Tech football.
Known for her wicked sense of humor, Nancy once performed as “Ernestine” (Lily Tomlin) the phone operator at her office Christmas party while working for the Dallas Chamber of Commerce, impressing many important attendees and bringing the house down.
Nancy is survived by her son, Roland Pelt and her brother Marvin Bradshaw, both of Dallas, Texas.
Nancy's vibrant spirit, creativity, and humor will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
