Nancy E. Skinner's Obituary
SKINNER, NANCY ELIZABETH The strife is over. The battle done, The victory of life is won. The song of triumph has begun: Alleluia For 30 years Nancy fought the devastating effects of cystic fibrosis with courage and dignity. Her strength and beauty will shine forever in the lives of all who knew her and loved her. She touched forever those who were blessed to have been a part of this special life. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ellis M. & Nell Skinner of Dallas and Loyce Ratka of Marrero, LA. Nancy is survived by parents, Sandy Skinner & Joyce Ratka of Montana; brother, John Ratka-Skinner & brother-in-law, Angel Experanueva; grandfather, John Ratka of Marrero, LA; aunt, Carol Ardeneaux of New Orleans, LA; godmother, Rachel Auringer of Cuba, MO; best friend, Erin Holcomb of Houston, TX; the love of her life, Frank Bauroth of Dallas, TX; and the many friends she met in her beautiful life that loved her. A special thank you to her doctors, Randal Rosenblatz, M.D. & Christopher Blewett, M.D. of SWMC. A thank you also to the 7th floor nursing staff: Velma, Anita, Sonya, Bill, Russell, Kawana, Deborah, Barbara, Liz and Talena for their love and support. A celebration of her life will be held from 3:00pm to 6:00pm, Monday, March 10, 2008 at Restland Funeral Home. Hopefully Nancy’s life and death will raise awareness of the importance of organ donations and the need for better education and awareness.
