Naomi Irene Black's Obituary
Naomi Irene (Myers) Black of Plano, Texas was received by her Savior and Lord on December 11, 2016 at the age of 90. She was born April 5, 1926 at the family home in Fort Worth, TX to Robert Earl and Velma Irene (Stephenson) Myers. Naomi graduated from Carter Riverside High School in Fort Worth in 1943. She married Wilmer O. Black on October 12, 1946 at the First Christian Church in downtown Fort Worth. Naomi lived the majority of her life in Dallas. Naomi and her husband owned a flooring company for 25 years. She ended her career and retired from Nations Bank in 1996. She loved to spend time with her family, read, volunteer and travel. She was preceded in death by her mother, father, husband and brothers, Bobby and Gerry Myers. She leaves behind her brother, Joe Myers of North Richland Hills, TX; her son, Steve O. Black and wife Judy of Denison, TX; daughter, Linda A. Engelking and husband, Ron of Plano, TX; and daughter, Kayla M. Click and husband, Neal of Sherman, TX. She is survived by 4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Thursday, December 15, 2016 at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 2:30 PM, Friday, December 16, 2016 at First Christian Church of Plano. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Christian Church of Plano Capital Campaign or Grayson College Viking Scholarship Foundation. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75243.
